8 Fortnite Collabs I Want To See In Game

It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Fortnite. You could even say that over the last 5 years that Fortnite has become my favorite video game out there. Not just currently, but arguably of all time. I am such a fan of the game that I have spend (possibly) thousands of dollars in the game by purchasing the seasonal Battle Pass, becoming a member of the Fortnite Crew, and purchasing various items and cosmetics from the Fortnite Item Shop. One look at my in-game locker and can see just how many items I have in there from the years of playing the game and purchasing the items. And one kind of item that I particularly am drawn to are the collabs (collaborations) that Epic has worked out with several outside entities and intellectual properties. Collabs with brands like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Moncler, Ferrari, the NFL, NBA, and numerous other pop culture, sporting, and clothing brands. It is a practice that Epic Games has actively sought out more and more, and with good reason; despite some backlash from some members of the Fortnite community, these collabs are some of the companies hottest selling items. I can only imagine how much money Epic has made in Fortnite through these collabs.

And I guess you can say that when I came across a recent Tweet on my Twitter feed, I was more than eager to respond and participate in its discourse. Well, so much so, that I wanted to expand upon my original response to that Tweet with a more extensive response – and what better platform to expand on this than my own, personal website. I mean, why have a website like this if you’re not going to use it? Have some fun with it, am I right? So that is what I am going to do here. First things first, proper credits must be given to Twitter user @Justin_Neagle who originally posted this question on his Twitter feed on January 4, 2023. I want to thank and credit them for the inspiration for this post here. In his Tweet, he posited to Twitter users: “You’re in charge of the next #Fortnite Battle Pass, made up of 8 entirely unique collabs. Who are you picking to fill each spot?” After which, they give us the choice to pick 8 collabs in the following categories: Icon Series, Marvel, Gaming Legends, Star Wars, DC, Anime, Movies/TV, and Clothing Brand. IN this post, I will be repeating the same answers to each category that I gave on my Twitter feed, but with expanded answers as to how and why, which you really can’t do with the limited number of characters that the typical Twitter response allows for.

Icon Series – Muselk

I really shouldn’t have to explain why the YouTube personality known as Muselk (real name Elliott Watkins) needs an Icon Series skin in Fortnite. Going back to when Fortnite Battle Royale had just launched, heck, even before that when it was just Save The World, Muselk was the first of the Australian YouTube gaming crowd to make consistent videos based around Fortnite. Hell, if memory serves me correctly, it was Muselk who introduced Content Creators like Lachlan and LazarBeam to the game – or he at least played their first rounds of Fortnite with them – and both of those YouTubers have already received Icon skins in game. And for as much as I respect what Lachlan and LazarBeam have done, if you look at content creation regarding Fortnite, Muselk has been one of the most consistent Fortnite YouTubers in the world. So, for Muselk to not have an Icon Series skin in game as of yet seems like a huge oversight – and quite frankly a crime against Content Creation – and one that Epic Games should rectify immediately.

Marvel – The Punisher

Look, I get it when people say that there are too many Marvel skins in Fortnite already, but as a huge Marvel fan, and looking at how successfully each Marvel skin sells when it appears in the Fortnite Item Shop, you can see why Epic continually puts out collabs with Marvel and their properties. And, for my money, if there is one Marvel character suited for a battle royale game like Fortnite, it is definitely Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher. Now I know that his ultra-violent characterization may be a bit mature for a more Teen friendly game like Fortnite, but we have the T-800, the Xenomorph, and even the freaking Doom Slayer in game now, so there is no valid argument why a character like The Punisher shouldn’t be added to the game now. I mean, come on – his whole deal is eliminating his opponents with a huge variety of guns and other weapons, so that alone makes him a perfect fit for Fortnite. And then you have his iconic costume, and you have a pure banger on hand for a Marvel series skin for the Item Shop.

Gaming Legends – Cloud Strife or Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)

For the Gaming Legends entry, I listed both Final Fantasy VII protagonist Cloud Strife and his arch-rival and series antagonist Sephiroth. But in truth, these characters were a place holder for the whole of FFVII. I mean, think about how amazing both Cloud and Sephiroth would look in-game during a match of Fortnite, with their iconic swords as the Harvesting Tools. Now imagine if we could get a whole set of characters like we do with the Anime series and you could add two more characters from the series to the Item Shop. For my money, if it were up to me, I would love to see the characters of Tifa Lockhart and Vincent Valentine. You could even revisit this collab in the future and add other characters like Yuffie Kisaragi and Aerith Gainsborough and I am pretty sure that the Fortnite player base would easily spend their hard-earned V-Bucks to acquire these skins.

Star Wars – Ahsoka Tano

I know I am not the only Star Wars fan who plays Fortnite who has wondered when we would get an Ahsoka Tano skin as part of the Star Wars collab. The Ahsoka character has such a huge fan following that I am actually quite shocked that she isn’t in the game already. Of course, with the close working relationship that Epic has with Star Wars/Disney, and an Ahsoka Tano series in development for the Disney+ streaming service, I am pretty sure that we will be getting an Ahsoka skin sometime in the near future. But that doesn’t mean as a Star Wars fan I can’t long for her to be in the game already.

DC – Green Lantern

I know that there are quite a few DC fans out there who play Fortnite who would love to see either Cyborg, Robin, or Nightwing in the game to add to the Teen Titans set we already have in game, but for my money, I would really love to see Green Lantern in the game. Admittedly, the Green Lantern character is my favorite DC superhero, but imagine what you could do if you added a Green Lantern Corps set to the DC series of skins. You could add GL characters like Hal Jordan, Kyle Raynor, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, or any other of the iconic Green Lantern Corps members to the set. Or, if Epic and DC really wanted to go all out, add in members of not just the Green Lantern Corps to the DC series, but members of the other Lantern Corps such as Red Lanterns, Yellow Lanterns, Indigo Lanterns, and so… the possibilities with this series could be endless, and I would certainly try to acquire as many of these as I could if they were added into the game.

Anime – Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

With Epic working so closely with the Japanese publishing juggernaut Shueisha to bring the Naruto and Dragon Ball collabs to Fortnite through their working relationship, I think it would be safe to say with as successful a franchise that the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series is, that this is another Anime series collab that may be coming sooner rather than later to the Item Shop. And with the four main characters of the series seemingly fitting the pattern of three male characters with one female character for each set, you could easily add in the characters of Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Inosuke Hashibara to the shop and pacify the fervent fans of each character with its initial outing within the game.

Movie/TV – Mad Max Rockatansky or Imperator Furiosa (Mad Max: Fury Road)

When it came to the selection for the Movie/TV series, I could have chosen from a variety of franchises. But when I thought of pure action and balls-to-the-wall intensity, the Mad Max: Fury Road film is what came to mind first – especially the characters of series lead Mad Max Rockatansky and the intense Imperator Furiosa. Just looking at the aesthetic of the world of Mad Max and the look of these characters in particular, it’s easy to imagine seeing these characters in Fortnite. And hey, we also have a Furiosa spin-off film scheduled for release in 2024, so that would be a perfect chance for Epic to add these characters to the Movie/TV series of skins in the world of Fortnite.

Clothing Brand – Armani

If I am being completely honest with you here, I am not much of a fashionista. Hell, my idea of a wardrobe is a pair of denim jeans and a comfortable gaming tee. Maybe, maybe, you can get me into a pair of slacks or khakis with either a polo or button-down shirt if I need to be “dressed up” for certain occasions. But, in the past, I have known the feel of a nice Armani suit against me when I needed to dress up for certain situations for my old job for the City of Los Angeles. And I know that in the world of fashion, the Armani brand is still one of the most fashionable and visually appealing brands in the world. And since Epic has already presents collabs with Moncler and Balenciaga in the past, imagine how much more stylish and suave your Fortnite characters would love if they were sporting some of Armani’s classic styles in game. Like, I said, I am not one for fashion, but even I recognize the appeal and value of the Armani label.

And those are my eight choices for future Fortnite collabs for their series in game. What do you think of my choices? Do you have other ideas for future collabs that you would like to see in Fortnite? Please list them in the comments below because I am genuinely curious about what others would like to see in the game. Who knows, I may just revisit this idea again on this site because I have so many ideas for collabs in Fortnite, and it was fun expressing and expanding upon the original Tweet. Again, huge thanks and credit go to Twitter user @Justin_Neagle for the idea behind this post. Stay safe and take care, everyone.
